Stampin' Up! A Craft Kit Review

I love crafting.I'm not very good at it! I have about three or four basic go-to makes, and everyone I know will get one of these every Christmas! One year everyone got scarves, one year everyone got bracelets,... but I'm always looking to expand my hand-made repertoire! After all, people only need so many scarves!

I was recently sent this lovely card-making craft kit from a company called Stampin' Up! who specialise in crafty things, with a particular focus on materials for hand made cards, scrapbooking and all kinds of papercraft items!

I recevied the 'Oh Happy Day' Card Kit, which has everything you need to create 20 beautiful and unique hand made cards for a number of special occasions!

The kit - which comes in a beautiful gift-worthy box if you were looking for presents for any crefty friends! - comes with 20 blank card bases in various sizes and with different (but coordinating) designs and colours, and each card has its own corresponding envelope.

To add flair to the cards, the kit comes with tonnes of decorative items - die-cut shapes (coloured, white and gold), embossed sheets and glittered shapes, doilies and twine. These can then be affixed to the cards as per the included instructions, or, if you are feeling a little more creative, in any way you please to create your own designs!

Also included in the kit is a set of stamps to create you greetings messages. The rubber stamps can be peeled off the backing sheet and stuck the the acrylic block, where they can be covered in the included ink so that the message can be transferred to the card! This is such an easy and fun way to get the decorative writing onto the cards - my penmanship isn't up to much - and the stamps can be combined in a number of ways too!

I was really impressed with the craft kit. It has everything you need to get started, and is simple enough even for even a complete beginner to put together some lovely finished items! Putting the card together is really fun, though I'm still not sure if I'm going to wait and make up the cards as special occasions come along - or just make them all in one go and have a stack ready!

I can definitely see thig being an addictive holiday though, and I've already been eyeing up the Christmas items on the store too!

Whether you are already a dab-hand at crafts, or just fancy trying something new - if you are lookign for a Christmas present for a special craft person in your life - I'd definitely recommend checking out Stampin' Up! You can also find them on facebook, twitter, pinterest, and youtube.
